There are a variety of options for transportation in and around Pittsburgh, including to and from the Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT)!

Airport Shuttle

Save $4.00 on a roundtrip fare from SuperShuttle! Use this link, or go to and use the code WXAHF for our discount. One way trip via SuperShuttle (sans discount) is $24.00.

PIT also allows for Lyft pickup at the curb. Download the Lyft app and make sure you set your pickup pin correctly! Lyft estimates your ride will cost about $26-36 each way, not including tip.

According to TaxiFareFinder, the fee for taking a taxi from PIT to our hotel is around $48, including tip.

Getting There

Bussing to Pittsburgh may not be the quickest way to get there, but it sure is the cheapest! Here’s are a couple of options that will go to Pittsburgh. (Please note we’re not endorsing any of these, just giving you options!)

Amtrak has direct routes from NYC, Newark, and Philadelphia via The Pennsylvanian, and Chicago, Cleveland, and Washington DC via the Capitol Limited. Our hotel is about 0.5 mi from the Amtrak Station. Google Maps walking directions are here, although taxis and Lyft cars can be called for as well.

For airline fares, we recommend SecretFlying to track airline sales, Airfarewatchdog and Hipmunk to track specific routes. Some of the more budget friendly airlines like Southwest, Southern Airways Express, or Allegiant also service PIT and are worth a look!

Check out the Roommates and Travel Buddies post! We can also signal boost your request on social media.

Public Transportation

The 28X Airport Flyer leaves from PIT approximately every half hour from the lower levels of Arrivals, Door 6. One way fare is $2.75 to ride, and will take you to the Seventh Ave at William Penn Pl stop. From there, you’ll have to transfer to the 81 bus ($2.75 fare) or walk .5 miles to the Pittsburgh Marriott City Center. Google Maps estimates that the trip will take about 1 hr 10 mins in total without traffic.
